PSSC

The Parent School Support Committee (PSSC) is an advisory body at each school. It is made up of 6 to12 parents, guardians and community members who work in an encouraging, advisory, and collaborative way with the school Principal and staff to make improvements and help ensure a positive learning and working environment. This important group provides advice to the Principal on:

  • school policies
  • partnerships within the community
  • maintaining a positive learning environment
  • supporting the language and culture of the school
  • planning for school improvement.

Outside of the scope of the PSSC are staff issues, day-to-day operations, fundraising and individual student academic or behaviour issues.

Details about the role of the PSSC are outlined in Section 32 of the New Brunswick Education Act.
